Phew time flies, it was January 19th when I started this post not sure what got in the way but here we go on the 13th of March I will continue on below.
It’s been a while since I posted, but first.
Donald Campbell March 14,1936 -January 18, 2024.
It has taken a while for me to compose my thoughts about Donnie’s passing. Growing up in Enilda I have may fond memories of spending time at Donnie and Gladys’s place. Donnie was somewhat of a mentor during my teenage years. I spent many hours assisting him (probably more like getting in the way) working on cars out in the yard. He taught me a lot about mechanics and body work. As the years passed by my parents moved to the Okanogan and my career took me to Edmonton and then Calgary I didn’t get back to Enilda or High Prairie often. Consequently, we rarely had the opportunity to visit, which saddens me.
My sincerest condolences.

On March 8 the world lost another jewel. Dorothy Scherle beloved wife of Ernie who passed away a few years ago. Dorothy was my previous wife Sandra’s sister. Years after our separation, I had the opportunity to visit with Dorothy and Ernie a few times while on business in Regina. Once out to their favorite pizza spot, on the next trip a nice meal at my hotel. The last time I was able to visit was for a few beers in their backyard. An amazing couple, non judgmental, gracious and supportive. Although I was no longer in the picture I appreciated the support they provided Sandra through some family issues. My favorite in laws, I have always had a place in my heart for them and always will.
I was going to continue on but just realized it’s after one in the morning and I should go to bed. I will post again in a couple of days with comments about my days in Enilda, and not sure If I should a few political views.
For now, all the best!
